Noel Casiano, PsyD, LMFT has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Central Connecticut State University. Dr. Casiano also obtained a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy also from Central Connecticut State University and is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the State of CT. Dr. Casiano then obtained a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University. Dr. Casiano is a clinical fellow with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Dr. Casiano is also a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).
Dr. Casiano has extensive professional experience in systemic treatment approaches to marital and couple’s therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy. Dr. Casiano utilizes treatment modalities such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy approach to working with individuals, couples, and families. Types of problems addressed include: Marital and Pre-marital Education, relationship problems, parent-child problems, substance abuse, anxiety, adjustment problems, depression, trauma and abuse, attachment issues, fatherhood engagement and men's issues. Dr. Casiano has a Brain Story Neuroscience Certification from the Alberta Family Wellness Initiative.
Dr. Casiano is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology & Human Services at the University of Hartford's Hillyer College. Dr. Casiano is also an adjunct clinical professor for Central Connecticut State University’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Program.
